How We Rate Slots & Casinos

Real money testing. Transparent criteria. No paid placements.

Every score on SlotArk is based on real money sessions. We don't copy scores from other review sites, we don't accept payment to inflate ratings, and we don't award 9/10 to every slot we review. If a game is mid, it gets a mid score.

How We Rate Slots

Slot scores are calculated across five criteria. Each is weighted by how much it actually impacts a player's experience and long-term value.

RTP & Math Model
25%

We verify the published RTP against provider documentation. Slots below 95% RTP are not recommended. The math model — how RTP is distributed between base game and bonus — is also assessed.

Bonus Mechanics
25%

How the bonus round works, how often it triggers, and whether the mechanics are interesting or repetitive. A well-designed bonus that rewards understanding scores higher than a pure coin flip.

Max Win Potential
20%

The advertised max win is noted, but we also assess whether it's realistically achievable given the volatility and bonus structure, or whether it exists only as a theoretical maximum.

Volatility & Session Feel
20%

How the slot actually plays across a real session — not just its stated volatility label. Some slots labelled "high volatility" play far more medium in practice. We report what we experience.

Overall Fun Factor
10%

Theme, sound design, animations, and whether the slot is genuinely engaging to play over multiple sessions or becomes repetitive quickly. Subjective, but honest.

Our Score Scale

9.0 – 10.0
Elite. One of the best slots available. Recommended without hesitation.
8.0 – 8.9
Very good. Strong in most areas with minor weaknesses.
7.0 – 7.9
Good. Worth playing but with notable trade-offs.
6.0 – 6.9
Average. Playable but not a priority recommendation.
Below 6.0
Below average or not recommended. We explain why in the review.

We do not give every slot a 9 or 10. If a slot doesn't deserve a high score, it won't receive one — regardless of who made it or whether we have an affiliate relationship with the casino where it's played.

How We Rate Casinos

Casino scores are based on six criteria assessed through real deposits, real withdrawals, and real gameplay at each platform.

25%

Licensing & Safety

A casino must hold a valid licence from a recognised regulator — Curaçao, Malta (MGA), UKGC, or equivalent — to be listed on SlotArk. We check licence status before publishing and revisit periodically. Unlicensed casinos are not reviewed.

20%

Bonus Terms & Fairness

Wagering requirements, game contribution rules, maximum bet limits during wagering, and time restrictions are all reviewed. A 200% bonus with 60x wagering scores lower than a 100% bonus with 30x.

20%

Game Selection

Number of providers, availability of high-RTP slots, and whether the casino offers the specific games we review. We also check for RTP setting transparency — some casinos run reduced-RTP versions of popular slots.

20%

Withdrawal Speed & Limits

We test actual withdrawals where possible. Casinos that process crypto withdrawals within an hour score higher than those that take 3–5 business days. Unreasonable limits or excessive verification are noted.

15%

Support & User Experience

Live chat responsiveness, mobile usability, and how the casino handles complaints. We check community forums and player reports alongside our own testing.

Testing Process

All slot reviews are based on real money sessions played before publishing. We don't claim to have tested a game we haven't played — every rating reflects hands-on time with the slot across its base game and bonus features.

Casino reviews are based on active accounts held at each platform. We do not review casinos from their registration page alone — we test the full experience from deposit to withdrawal.

Independence Policy

SlotArk earns income through affiliate commissions. This creates a potential conflict of interest which we manage through a strict editorial policy:

For full details, see our Affiliate Disclosure. For questions about a specific score, join the SlotArk Discord and ask directly.
